A must for anyone visiting Marrakech!! I've done hundreds of walking tours in my life and this is one that I'd highly recommend. The guide Yousef is extremely knowledgeable, passionate and enthusiastic about explaining the history, culture and traditions of the many sites in Marrakech you will visit. He will tell you about the hidden secrets of the old town, tourist traps to avoid and will recommended some fantastic places, resturants and museums to visit in your own time. Marrakech has a lot to offer in the old town and having a local guide to show you around the bustling streets, markets and souks is a huge advantage. I recommend you do this tour on your first day so you can learn about the hidden gems, nooks and and crannies of the city and about the local customs, traditions and history. Yousef is passionate about ancient architecture and design, and will show you hidden features in old buildings that you will not notice yourself, including some thousand year old tile work that still stands today. I was totally blown away by the quality of hand crafts in Marrakech especially the brass work, coppersmiths and most of all, the hand made colourfully patterned clay tiles called Zellige. Yousef even helped bargain with local street vendors to get me a good price. His knowledge of the streets and local vendors was super useful in snagging a good bargain. Marrakech is the place to do your shopping so knowing where to go for good quality and price is really important. I mentioned that I also wanted to visit Fes, the Sahara Desert and Tangier by local bus at the end of the tour and Yousef offered to help me plan an itinerary for me and directed me to the local bus company website and office to buy tickets and gave me tips on how to best get around Morocco including taking a bullet train from Tangier to Casablanca that I was totally clueless about since Google doesn't show all transportation options. He also informed me about the time tables, good bus companies, station locations, recommended reliable desert camp and camel ride operators, optional excursions and was not even slightly pushy about it. He gave me options and Im so glad he did because my itinerary around Morocco worked perfectly as planned and was a bargain for all the activities, memorable experiences and sights I saw, including a sunset camel back ride through the Sahara and a stay in a Berber camp to gaze at the clear night sky. I would highly recommend taking him up on his recommended tour itineraries and excursions as there is no way, even I as a seasoned traveller, would have been able to organise it on my own for such a bargain. He was very reluctant to accept any tips and our enjoyment of Marrakech was his main focus, rather than collecting tips as many other tour guides will do. I could not tip this guy enough - super helpful and full of energy. I'd highly recommend. His tour is totally free, no obligations to tip, but it's totally worth whatever you're willing to chip in given what you get out of it!
