« Agence serieuse, bonne prise en charge de notre riad jusqu'au activités quad dromadaire. Un super parcours dans le dessert d'agafay à proximité de Marrakech. Une superbe visite de Marrakech avec un guide trés agréable ! Je recommande :) »
View reviewA shared shuttle usually costs around 150 to 200 DH per person round trip. A private four-seat taxi generally lands between 400 and 600 DH depending on where you leave from and how well you negotiate.
If there are 3 or 4 of you, the taxi often becomes the smarter option. The trap is the driver waiting outside the camp asking for 500 DH one way because they know you have no easy alternative.
Shared shuttles are often minibuses with limited legroom and tired air conditioning. You will wait while the other passengers finish their tea before the vehicle leaves. With a taxi, you leave when you want.
But the road can be rough in places, so the driver matters.

The most coherent Agafay format if you want pool time, sunset atmosphere and smooth logistics from Marrakech.

10:30 AM: Departure. Avoid leaving at noon unless you enjoy arriving in the hottest part of the day.
11:15 AM: Arrival. If you booked a shuttle, note the return time carefully. They do not wait for late passengers.
05:00 PM: Recommended return. After sunset, open-market taxi prices jump and shuttles get crowded.

Flexible, drops you at the exact camp, more comfortable.
Essential for families.
With three or four travelers, the cost often becomes very competitive.
Shuttle: budget travelers and couples who are not in a rush.
Taxi: groups of 3+, families with babies and anyone who wants proper door-to-door service.
Taking a random street taxi without fixing the return price. You will overpay on the way back. Another mistake is thinking there is a public bus that solves everything. There is not.
The bus stops well before the desert and the final stretch becomes expensive or exhausting.
Book your taxi through your camp or a trusted local operator. The price is fixed and you have someone to call if something goes wrong. If you choose a shuttle, ask whether it truly serves your camp or leaves you at a central drop point.
Go by private taxi if you have the budget. It is the cleanest way to enjoy Agafay without stress. Use the shuttle only if saving money matters more than flexibility.
And forget unrealistic alternatives like hitchhiking, walking or trying to improvise with local buses.
